Alexandra Rissi, J.D./MBA
Alex Rissi focuses her practice on advising nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations as well as corporations engaging in cause marketing strategies. Ms. Rissi counsels nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations on matters ranging from formation, governance, tax compliance, and business ventures. Ms. Rissi guides potential founders through the start-up process and advises donors with respect to major gifts. Raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Alex attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where she earned a B.A. in Government. She earned her J.D./MBA from Seattle University, receiving CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Individual Income Taxation, Corporate Tax, and Taxation of Partnerships and LLCs and graduating magna cum laude from law school.
Outside of work, Ms. Rissi serves as a pro bono volunteer attorney at the University of Washington’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic where she represents clients in tax controversy proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service and in the federal courts. During tax season, Alex volunteers with the United Way of King County as a tax return preparer assisting low income taxpayers with preparing and filing federal tax returns. Alex plays semi professional volleyball for the Puget Sound Premier team and enjoys spending the rest of her free time exploring the Pacific Northwest with her friends and her labrador, Bolten.
